(EA UNSAFE)

Beam
H1

This beam no longer exists.
Both TAX are put in dump position and the control cables will be disconnected.

Beam

H3

This beam will normally be run with Bends 2+3 limited and large range.
The interlock would also allow bends unlimited and small range.

Small
Dump position
Ø = 12 mm with 120 cm Be

85 x 52 mm2 racetrack

Beam

H2

The allowed conditions for this beam are
   - Bends 2+3 limited and large range
   - Bends unlimited and small range

Beam
H6

No operational interlock required, as the beam is inherently limited to 205 GeV/c by magnet strength.

Beam

H8

The allowed conditions for this beam are:
   - Bends 1+2 limited and large range
   - Bends unlimited and small range on XTAX042020 (only!)
     plus XCIO042200 in (Ø= 3 mm hole)
     plus microcollimator in beam and opening < 1 mm.
At all positions (incl. dump) there are 80 x 42 mm2 holes to let the H6 beam pass through.
Range Holes available
XTAX042018 XTAX042020
Small
Dump position
Ø = 12 mm with 80 cm Be
Dump position
Ø = 2.0 mm
Large Ø= 80 mm Ø= 80 mm

Beam
P41/P42

No operational interlock required:
Beam runs into underground machine area.

Beam
P61/P62

No operational interlock required:
Beam runs into underground machine area1.

Beam
M2

No operational interlock needed:
This beam is limited to < 300 GeV/c by magnet strength.

During ion periods, these operational interlocks can be overruled if the areas are put in ion mode (key in BA) and the HEAVY ION (not deuteron) signals comes from the PS+SPS.

1) During heavy ion operation an interlock (medium range) is normally activated, but only for equipment protection.
